![]() In the front: I recommend the "Traction Dynamics AR-25 kit". My lap times are within a second or two of the folks that $pent 2-3 times what I did. My "race" FZ-07 has the suspension that most street riders chose. ![]() Most people don't know how to set-up a suspension properly (myself included). Contrary to what most people think, you most likely do NOT need every adjustment available (unless you are racing at the pro level). You can usually pick up a set for about $350.ģ) Suspension- I've wasted a lot of money on PREMIUM suspension in the past. I've used them for track-days in the past, and they the best bang-for-the-buck tire (in my opinion). They are a dual compound tire- meaning the center of the tire is a harder compound (for long life), and a softer compound on the sides- (for cornering). If the current tires are needing replacement, I'd recommend the Dunlop Q3+. They wear well, but are a pretty hard rubber compound. They can tune it to your liking, and if you add exhaust/intake mods to your bike, they will "re-flash" to accommodate your changes (for FREE). They usually run a Black-Friday special for like $249Ģ) TIRES!!!! I don't know what tires are on your bike? The OEM sport-touring tires are good for commuting/highway use. I've gone through "Nels" 2WDW on (4) of my bikes. They can remove as much of the engine braking possible, and improve the entire riding experience. ![]() The bike will do everything better, even without intake/exhaust mods. I will list my recommendations in the order I feel they are most important:ġ) Get the ECU flashed by 2WDW (They are a site sponsor of this site). My 2016 FZ-07 was a street bike for several years. I've not had my bike dyno tuned, so there's probably some power to be had, but I suspect mostly in dialing in the target AFR's the auto-tune is trying to achieve and more so in dialing in the timing values (that's generally where you make up your torque afaik). It's hard to recommend, when I don't know what your intended use is? I'll tell you what I did, and why. I just leave it on now for the first reason listed above. Without the autotune on there was noticeable lag on the low end until I implemented the suggestions. I tried turning auto-tune off and just using the suggestions after every ride for 5 rides. After I found out about the whacky ignition and TPS maps on the unrestricted base tune, I played with a few settings. It just adjust after a half hour or a ride or two.Ģ) It makes a noticeable impact. I'm a HUGE advocated of the auto-tune for two reasons.ġ) It allows me to swap the exhaust baffle on and off when I need (long trips or noise sensitive neighborhoods). Hahaa yer man its got a few dead spots though with my current tune! It probably has a bit more power in certain places but its running really lean You obviously dont have to get a full dyno tune but I want it to run as best as it possibly can! I do like how you can make so many changes though if you know what you're doing! How you findin the auto tune? Thats was what I first thought about getting but it costs quite a bit more than a full day on a dyno for a custom tune! I don't recommend using the unrestricted map without having it dyno tuned for your fuel, altitude and bike setup. the TPS Map Bias is literally just a smooth gradient as well. The timing in the lower RPM's is incredibly aggressive and will result in pre-det on lower octane fuels in hot weather. The unrestricted map is not recommended to be run without tuning it. My point is though I didn't get the results I expected doing a DIY ECU Flash, just something to consider mate! But I imagine if you're changing the airbox out you're definitely going to need a custom dyno tune unless you can find someone with the same setup, willing to send you their ECU image! Theres a couple videos on youtube where people have good results with just installing the FTECU unrestricted map and a power commander fuel file. Done a little road test and its still running very lean! So Ive ended up having to book it in for a custom dyno tune anyway. Ive just installed a flash tune kit on my MT07 (UK Model) Installed the unrestricted map and downloaded a power commander file to suit my Akrapovic Titanium and Stock Air Filter.
